Do you want to lose weight effectively but have already tried different diets? Then maybe try a salad diet, salad is the perfect meal replacement!
Low carbohydrate
The best way to lose weight is different for everyone. Some people have a low carbohydrate tolerance, so if this is the case for you, you can try replacing your main meals with a healthy salad.
It is best to make your own salads, because when you buy them in the supermarket they often contain a lot of added sugars, flavourings and colourings. This is partly due to the dressing that has been added to the salads.
You can make an incredible number of different variations with salads. Not only is this a good way to lose weight, but it also gives you a boost of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
Feeling full with different ingredients
Salads keep you full for a long time. You don’t have to make a completely fatty or low-calorie salad, just add some protein like grilled chicken or fish like tuna, shrimp or salmon. Other options are cottage cheese or legumes, such as lentils, chickpeas, beans or boiled eggs. Protein and fat keep you fuller for longer than carbohydrates.
Healthy fats you can add to your salad, such as avocado, olives, nuts, seeds and almonds. Be careful with the quantity: it quickly adds a lot of calories. A handful of nuts or half an avocado is enough to make you feel full. Vegetables, on the other hand, you can eat as much as you like. So go wild with tomatoes, grilled aubergine, courgette, peppers, cauliflower, broccoli and beans!
Make your own dressing
You can go all over the place with taste, be creative.
For example, you can make a dressing with raspberries if you have a sweet tooth. Use 10 ml of olive oil, 70 grams of raspberries (pureed) and season the dressing with a little salt and pepper.
Another fresh dressing is the combination with lemon. You can use 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 100 ml of whole yoghurt for this. You can of course use salt and pepper again to bring it to your taste.
Hydrate
In addition to eating salads, it is also important to drink enough. Drinking too little water can signal hunger in your body, when in fact it is a sign that you need to drink more. Drinking 2 litres of water a day is therefore an important supplement to a healthy diet. Would you like to drink something other than water? Fresh lemon juice, fresh carrot juice or green juice are good choices that you can add to your diet and are tasty for a change.
